Green Water Starter Kit Instructions
Nurture your aquatic ecosystem with our Green Water Starter Kit, designed for baby fish, snails, shrimp, and algae-eating species. This kit makes cultivating live green water (phytoplankton) easy and effective, providing a nutritious, natural food source for your aquatic pets.
What’s Included:
-
13 oz Thick Phytoplankton Culture: A robust, live starter culture for rapid green water growth.
-
10 ml Liquid Algae Fertilizer: Precisely formulated to fuel your phytoplankton for maximum yield.
-
Syringe: For accurate dosing and easy maintenance.
Step 1: Prepare the Container
-
Choose a clean, clear container or jar (1-2 gallons is ideal).
-
Fill it with dechlorinated water (tap water treated with a dechlorinator or pre-aged water works best).
Step 2: Add the Culture
-
Gently shake the 13 oz culture bottle to mix thoroughly.
-
Pour the entire culture into the prepared container.
Step 3: Add Fertilizer
-
Use the syringe to measure 2 ml of fertilizer and add it to the container.
-
Stir gently to distribute the nutrients evenly.
Step 4: Provide Light
-
Place the container in a location with indirect sunlight or under a grow light (6–8 hours of light per day).
-
Avoid direct sunlight to prevent overheating.
Step 5: Aerate the Culture (Optional but recommended)
-
Use an aquarium air pump and airline tubing to gently aerate the culture. This prevents stagnation and encourages even growth.
Step 6: Monitor and Harvest
-
Within 3–5 days, your water will turn a vibrant green, indicating healthy phytoplankton growth.
-
Use the syringe to harvest small amounts as needed for feeding.
Maintenance Tips:
-
Replenish: After each harvest, top off the container with fresh dechlorinated water and add 0.5 ml of fertilizer per gallon to maintain growth.
-
Stir/Aerate: Gently stir the culture daily if not using aeration.
-
Replace Culture: Every 2–3 months, refresh with a new starter culture for best results.
