RADIANT HEAT PANEL
WARNING
The Reptile Habitats Radiant Heat Panel must always be operated with a pulse-proportional or dimming thermostat (not included). Your model is IP64 certified, meaning it can safely withstand up to 99% humidity and be sprayed from any angle, but it must never be submerged in water. This panel is designed exclusively as an overhead ambient heat source and should not be used beneath the substrate or as a belly heat source.
WARRANTY
Your Reptile Habitats Radiant Heat Panel includes a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty. If you experience any faults or issues, please contact your supplier or reach out directly to support@reptilehabitats.com for assistance. The warranty becomes void if the unit is modified, opened, or tampered with in any way.
Instructions:
The Reptile Habitats Radiant Heat Panel must be operated with a pulse-proportional thermostat or a dimming thermostat at all times. It is designed as an overhead ambient heat source and must be mounted on the interior ceiling of your enclosure with the silver panel facing the ceiling and the Reptile Habitats logo facing downward toward your reptile. Failure to use a compatible thermostat or to install the panel in this orientation may result in overheating, equipment damage, or injury to your animal.
• To install your Radiant Heat Panel into your Reptile enclosure, please refer to our instructional video with the QR code on product packaging.
• Using all screws provided, attach the panel to the inside ceiling of the enclosure.
• Feed the wire through the wire grommet of your Reptile Habitats enclosure, ensuring that it is correctly connected.
• Plug your Reptile Habitats Radiant Heat Panel into your thermostat of choice and set to an appropriate temperature for your reptile.
• Regularly check your probe placement.
• Avoid spraying the unit directly.
• As with all heating devices for reptiles, we advise using a wifi monitoring system to ensure that proper temperatures are maintained.
Before installation of your Reptile Habitats Radiant Heat Panel, make sure all animals are removed from the enclosure and kept out for a full 24 hours afterward. This allows time for the enclosure to heat evenly and for the thermostat to stabilize the temperature. Be sure all substrates, branches, shelves, and other habitat décor are already in place prior to installing the Reptile Habitats Radiant Heat Panel, as these features provide natural insulation and help maintain steady, balanced warmth throughout the environment.
Probe Placement
• For a 2-foot-high enclosure, position the thermostat probe 2–4 inches above the substrate, directly in line with the Reptile Habitats Radiant Heat Panel above.
• For a 3-foot-high enclosure, place the probe 4–6 inches above the substrate, also directly in line with the panel.
• For a 4-foot-high enclosure, install the probe 8–12 inches above the substrate, maintaining alignment with the heat panel.
• For enclosures taller than 4 feet, it’s best to create an elevated branch or shelf area where the animal can access the desired ambient heat zone. For example, in a 6-foot-tall enclosure, situate a large branch or platform around 3 feet high and mount the probe there to provide a warmer area for the animal to move to as needed.
Note: Ambient heat should not be measured at the floor or substrate level. In natural environments, ambient temperatures are typically measured about 5 feet above ground, where the air is warmer than the surface below. Positioning the probe above the substrate—at the recommended height—helps replicate this natural temperature gradient within the enclosure.
