Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp, 75w (2 pack)
Reptiles are ectothermic, which means that instead of producing their own body heat, they depend on external sources like the sun for warmth. This heat energy is used to digest their food, maintain bodily function, and stay generally healthy. Since reptiles don't produce their own heat, we must provide the heat they need with heat lamps.
The Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp is an incandescent spot-style basking bulb with a unique double reflector design that focuses 35% more heat and light than regular spot lamps.
This bulb does not produce UVB.
Bulbs are warrantied by the manufacturer for 3 months.
Estimated bulb lifespan: 2,000 hours or at least 3 months
Instructions for use:
Install in a ceramic-socket lamp rated above the bulb's wattage and plug into a surge protector. Place the lamp on the extreme left or right of the terrarium to create a usable temperature gradient. For best results, use the Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Infrared Thermometer to measure the temperature at your pet's basking area to make sure they are getting the right temps for their needs.
To maximize bulb lifespan, wear gloves when installing the bulb to prevent skin oils from getting on the glass. Also avoid unnecessary jostling, especially when the lamp is on.
I didn't get the 75 watt. They shipped the 100w instead. Which I am glad they did. Keeping my Dragon warm. Very happy with this product. And the delivery.
