Many tropical reptiles benefit from UVB, which is an essential wavelength found in sunlight. UVB is critical to helping your pet’s bones stay healthy and strong, and plays a role in a variety of other essential functions.

The Zoo Med Mini Tropical UVB Lighting Combo Pack includes:

• ReptiSun 5.0 Mini Compact Fluorescent (13w)

This lamp works best with small arboreal (tall) terrariums less than 18" tall and 12" wide, for reptiles with low UVB requirements. For larger enclosures, we recommend the more powerful Zoo Med T5 HO Reptisun 5.0.

8" below lamp — UVI 0.7 - 1.0

10" below lamp — UVI 0.4 - 0.7

Different reptiles have different UVB requirements. Research your particular species to determine what UVI it needs in its basking area.

Distance is measured from the tip of the bulb to the basking area or reptile. UVI estimations are approximate. Note that UVI is reduced by 30-40% when the UVB bulb is placed over mesh screen.
