Thai Red Springtails 10ct. (Lobella sp.)
Thai Red Springtails 10ct. (Lobella sp.)
Thai Red Springtails (Lobella sp.) are a colorful tropical species prized by bioactive enclosure keepers for their bright red coloration and exceptional cleanup abilities. These active springtails consume mold, decaying plant material, shed skin, and other organic waste, helping maintain a healthier, more balanced enclosure while supporting the natural breakdown of organic matter.
Unlike common white springtails, Thai Red Springtails add a unique visual element to bioactive setups and thrive in warm, humid environments. They are an excellent choice for tropical reptile, amphibian, and invertebrate enclosures, as well as vivariums, terrariums, and planted displays.
Each culture contains approximately 10 active starter springtails along with a nutrient-rich culture media to help establish a thriving colony. Once introduced into a suitable bioactive habitat with adequate moisture and organic matter, they will reproduce and become a long-term part of your enclosure's cleanup crew.
Care Recommendations
- Temperature: 70–82°F (21–28°C)
- Humidity: High humidity is required.
- Substrate: Moist bioactive substrate with leaf litter, moss, or cork bark.
- Diet: Mold, fungi, decaying organic matter, and supplemental springtail food or nutritional yeast as needed.
Thai Red Springtails perform best in consistently warm, humid conditions. Avoid allowing the culture or enclosure to dry out, as prolonged dry conditions can significantly reduce the population.
