Substrate is an important component of any terrarium. It helps make the enclosure easier to clean, provides grip for the animal as it moves around, and also enhances the aesthetic of the setup.

The Exo Terra Sand Mat is a natural-looking terrarium liner designed to mimic the appearance and texture of a desert environment. Although it looks like a sandy substrate, all particles on the Sand Mat are firmly adhered to the mat to prevent substrate ingestion.

To maintain good hygiene, spot-clean the Exo Terra Sand Mat daily and scrub with reptile-safe disinfectant weekly.
