Introducing: a better compact coil UVB bulb! Arcadia's 12% strength compact UVB bulb is perfect for use in enclosures that are too small for the T8 or T5 HO linear fluorescents. This allows you to create ‘wild-like’ indexes of energy with an energy rich, wide basking zone while also providing ample access to light and shade for natural self-regulation within the limitations of a small enclosure.

  • 12% strength UVB for vitamin D3 synthesis
  • 30% UVA output to enhance reptile vision

Arcadia is the leading producer of UVB lighting worldwide, with more reliable performance and longer lifespan than other bulbs, plus no nasty blue/purple color or flickering!

Instructions for Use:

Due to high UVB output, this bulb is best suited for use with small, diurnal desert reptiles with high UVB needs. The 23w bulb is a larger, stronger version of the 13w with a higher UVB output.

Use with a reflective hood fixture (preferably the Arcadia Universal E27 compact lighting kit for optimal output!), no closer than 8" to your reptile's back when standing on the basking surface. For best results, place on the extreme right or left of the enclosure in order to create a usable light gradient for your reptile. The basking area should be the point of highest UVI in your reptile's enclosure.

Placing the lamp above a mesh top reduces this bulb's UVB output by approximately 30-40%.

This bulb must be changed every 12 months to maintain performance. To get the most life out of your bulb please be sure to shut off power to the fixture BEFORE removing or installing a bulb!

For best results, we strongly recommend borrowing or investing in a Solarmeter 6.5 to measure bulb output at the precise distance between the bulb and your reptile. This ensures maximum efficacy and reduces the likelihood of your reptile becoming under- or over-exposed to UVB.
