If you are looking for a primary basking heat source for your pet, we suggest the Arcadia Halogen flood heat bulb instead!

Reptiles are ectothermic ("cold-blooded"), which doesn't produce their body heat. Instead, they depend on external heat sources like the Sun for the heat energy that their bodies need to function properly.

The Pangea Reptile Heat Pad is designed to simulate how surfaces are heated by the Sun in nature. This can be especially useful as a primary or secondary heat source of terrestrial reptiles that are active at night.

This product is UL Rated, so you can feel confident in its quality.

Wattage: 24w

Dimensions: 8" x 18"

Instructions for Use:

Stick the Pangea Reptile Heat Pad on the extreme left or right side of the terrarium to create a temperature gradient. Place the included rubber bumpers under the four corners of the terrarium to create airflow for the mat. The mat should cover roughly 1/3 of the terrarium's floor space.

Heat mats work best with a thin (<2" layer of the substrate). Terrariums with a thicker substrate layer should use an overhead heat source such as a halogen basking bulb or ceramic heat emitter, depending on the intended use.

To keep your reptile at the right temperature and prevent burns, it is very important to use a thermostat such as the Exo Terra 100w Thermostat or Zoo Med ReptiTemp Digital Thermostat with your heat mat!
