"White Out" Isopods (Porcellionides pruinosus)

Porcellionides pruinosus is a type of isopod native to South America, although invasive in other parts of the world. The “White Out” color morph is named for their complete lack of color, which also makes them semi transparent!

As part of a bioactive terrarium, P. pruinosus contributes by breaking down food waste, feces, and rotting foliage, although their lack of camouflage can make them a target to smaller insectivorous and omnivorous animals. But their soft bodies make them good feeders!
