Instructions for Use:

To obtain the UV index (UVI) instantaneous value, the following instructions will provide the most consistent, accurate results:

  • Hold the meter vertically, directly underneath the center of the UVB lamp at your choice of exposure distance.
  • Press and hold button on front of meter case.
  • Note reading on LCD. This value represents the UVI.

Maintenance Notes

  • Do not subject the meter to extremes in temperature, humidity, shock or dust. If accidentally exposed to extreme humidity or damp conditions, abnormally high readings may occur. Allowing the meter to dry out naturally or by placing it in a bag with silica gel to restore normal functionality.
  • Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the intrument. Keep sensor free of oil, dirt, etc.
  • Battery operation voltage is 9V down to 6.5V. Below 6.5V the LCD numbers will begin to dim, indicating the need for battery replacement. Under “typical” service load, the battery should last at least 2 years.
