Exo Terra Bio Drain Mesh, Mini (12x12)

Exo Terra BioDrain Terrarium Draining Mesh is part of the Exo Terra BioDrain Terrarium Draining System. This non-toxic mesh keeps underlying drainage material separated from the decorative top layer of the substrate above. It also allows for proper water drainage and helps prevent water contamination by filtering out substrate particles.

To create a water feature and biological filtration system in your tropical terrarium, you will need Exo Terra BioDrain Terrarium Draining Substrate. The clean terrarium water can then be circulated in waterfalls, the Exo Terra Rain System, or Dripping Plants. Use Bio-Clean (formerly known as Biotize) to speed up biological filtration capabilities. We recommend using Exo Terra Forest Moss, Jungle Earth, or Plantation Soil as the top layer of the substrate.

Instructions for Use in Water Features: 

1. Wash the Bio Drain Terrarium Draining Substrate thoroughly and spread it evenly in the terrarium.
2. Create a water part by removing the substrate in the desired location, then cover the substrate entirely with the Bio Drain Terrarium Draining Mesh.
3. Add a biological substrate like Plantation Soil on the terrestrial (land) area.
4. Add an aquatic substrate like Turtle Pebbles or Riverbed Sand to the water part and add water.
